About me
Miranda Engstrom is a proud Maine educator with 17 years of experience. Formerly a Kindergarten teacher, she now serves as a Literacy Specialist at Lamoine Consolidated School teaching Reading Recovery, Title 1 and Gifted and Talented. Her commitment to inclusive education shines through her coaching of many Special Olympics teams, advising middle school SkillsUSA, mentoring LCS' Best Buddies program, and coaching of Odyssey of the Mind Inclusive teams. She's excited to chat with you about anything under the sun, but is pretty passionate about education, Odyssey, and transforming the lives of children in positive ways!
Jason Wheeler - Since the tender age of 9, Jason has proudly worn the badge of ‘Omer’ (one who does Odyssey of the Mind), dedicating his life to ensuring every kid gets a taste of the magic that is OM. We’re talking about the kind of magic that builds teamwork, resiliency, flexibility, and empathy—basically, the superhero toolkit for life. Over his 35-year Odyssey (pun totally intended), Jason has mingled with tens of thousands of kids at both state and global levels. He’s been endlessly inspired by the transformations he’s seen and the hurdles Omers have leaped over—sometimes literally, because, you know, kids. When Jason isn’t busy being the ultimate OM volunteer, he’s juggling roles like a pro. By day, he’s a full-time technology sales whiz. By night, he’s a full-time husband and father. And somewhere in between, he finds time to be a part-time youth soccer coach on the beautiful Coast of Maine.
